By sharing best practices and advancements in materials and technologies with members of the industry, we will help advance the move toward adopting cleaner paving methodologies. At Surface Tech, we believe in better. We believe in better, longer-lasting pavements that provide superior performance, cost efficiency, and preserve energy, transportation, and raw materials. To this end — and to the goal of zero CO2 by 2050 — we pledge our full support.

Sustainability/Transparency Report

Since its inception, Surface Tech has offered thoroughly researched and field-proven solutions to enable asphalt pavements to resist rutting and cracking and last longer. Through emerging technologies and material advancements, we have succeeded in creating an asphalt reinforcement product that positively impacts the longevity of asphalt roads, thereby reducing the need for periodic maintenance and extending the time frame for total replacement. EPD verified by SCS Global ServicesLong-lived asphalt pavements reduce the need for virgin materials, particularly aggregates and oils. Stronger pavements further reduce the need to mine and transport raw materials. They also help reduce CO2 emissions produced in asphalt mixing, transporting, and paving.

Further, Surface Tech provides an EPD-listed reinforcement product that enhances the performance of asphalt in a wide range of applications, including asphalt interlayers that reduce reflective cracking. Our ACE aramid reinforcement product can increase the amount of recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) in mixes up to 50 percent, without becoming brittle. ACE can also reduce the thickness of asphalt pavements while still achieving the strength needed to withstand bruising weather conditions and traffic loads. Together, these solutions help preserve raw materials and reduce CO2 emissions. More at https://surface-tech.com.
