Quality in Construction Awards
Companies demonstrate their commitment to quality with Quality in Construction Awards. The award even highlights green and/or innovative projects. Quality in Construction Awards are open to all asphalt producers, paving contractors, and road owners in the United States. See the 2022 QIC Award winners!

Applications received October 17-31 incur a $50 late fee.
Quality in Construction Awards recognize excellence in asphalt paving in three tiers:
- Projects using less than 50,000 tons of asphalt. The top 10 highest scoring projects earn an acclaimed Larry H. Lemon Award.
- Projects using more than 50,000 tons of asphalt. The following year, the highest scoring highway projects move to the semi-finalist stage of the Sheldon G. Hayes Award. The award is bestowed based on stringent IRI testing and a thorough site visit.
- Airport pavement projects. The highest scoring airport earns a coveted Ray Brown Award.
Operational Excellence Awards
Companies demonstrate their excellence in outreach with the Community Involvement Award. Companies can also showcase their responsible practices by winning the Asphalt Operations Safety Innovations or Environmental Leadership Award.

The Community Involvement Award recognizes outstanding programs in community relations. This award is based on a company's complete community relations program. Employee participation is weighted heavily. To view previous winners, click the following links: 2022, 2021
The Asphalt Operations Safety Innovations Award recognizes safety practices that are above and beyond normal safety practices. Innovations can be items/practices invented for a specialized use or items/practices that are adapted from other industries and implemented by the asphalt pavement industry. The Environmental Leadership Award is the pinnacle award for asphalt plants in the U.S. Those who have already been recognized with a Diamond Achievement Sustainable Commendation may apply. Industry peers judge submitted materials and select winners based on the plant's appearance as well as the company's environmental and social stewardship. Asphalt Pavement Hall of Fame
The Asphalt Pavement Hall of Fame recognizes and honors individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the asphalt pavement industry, leading to innovations in the production and placement of asphalt pavement, in the usage of asphalt as a paving material, and in the general advancement and recognition of the industry. Ronald D. Kenyon Award
The Ronald D. Kenyon Award for Research and Education recognizes outstanding contributions to research and education surrounding asphalt pavement technology; environmental, health, and safety; and asphalt pavement sustainability. The Kenyon Award honors those deserving individuals whose work and leadership have made a significant contribution to the advancement of the asphalt pavement industry.
