Asphalt Plant Operator

Description:

  • Operate computerized controls to produce quality asphalt mixtures according to specifications
  • Deliver specified mixture and quantities onto trucks
  • Ensure personnel safety including customers delivering/receiving materials
  • Monitor the operation and function of the plant throughout the workday
  • Assist with plant maintenance and routine servicing
  • Assist plant foreman with ordering supplies and materials

Description:

Quality Control Technician

Description:

  • Sample asphalt mixes according to applicable specifications
  • Visually inspect truck beds at the plant to ensure they are clean and free of debris prior to being loaded
  • Visually inspect loads at the plant prior to delivery to paving crews for compliance with established requirements
  • Conduct visual and laboratory testing of asphalt mixes according to applicable specifications. Testing will include temperature checks, mechanical sieve analysis, AC content, specific gravity gyratory compaction, and other properties
  • Conduct visual and laboratory testing of stockpile aggregates to ensure compliance with established material properties according to applicable specifications. Testing will include moisture content, mechanical sieve analysis, specific gravity, and other properties
  • Accurate and timely submission of test reports or other records as required by specifications
  • Communicate test results to the QC team, operations team, Supervisor, and Management

Skills/Experience Needed:

Description:
