Protecting the Work Zone
From federal laws to employee-led innovation, we’re constantly striving to make roadbuilding safer for crews, operators, and the public. This includes:
- Move Over Laws: We advocate for increased awareness and enforcement of laws to protect crews and motorists alike.
- Technology in the Field: From automated flaggers to advanced internal traffic control, the industry is constantly deploying new technology to minimize human exposure to traffic.
- Mental Health Awareness: We recognize that safety includes the well-being of the whole person. NAPA provides resources to support mental health and suicide prevention within the road construction industry.

#WatchForUs
Since 2018, the #WatchForUs campaign raises awareness to the need for caution when motorists approach work zones. While relevant all year, the campaign picks up for the annual National Work Zone Awareness Week.
Working Together for Safer Work Zones
Improving work zone safety requires collaboration. The National Work Zone Safety Coalition represents contractors, engineers, and safety providers united by an urgent mission to protect roadway workers and the traveling public.
